The study aimed to test the hypothesis that students of a Belarusian university enrolled in distance learning programs with the use of distance educational technologies demonstrate higher levels of intrinsic motivation as well as a correlation between motivation and academic achievement compared to students in traditional face-to-face programs. The study included 114 students from the 2nd and 3rd year, attending face-to-face (N = 40) and distance learning programs (N = 74). The methods used included the “Academic Motivation Scale”, as well as the grade point average, and the Carol S. Dweck questionnaire to assess academic achievement. The findings showed that distance learning students exhibited a higher level of intrinsic academic motivation, while face-to-face students demonstrated a stronger presence of external motivation. Motivation among distance learning students was also found to be more strongly correlated with indicators of academic achievement.

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the features of the relationship between students’ value orientations and their existential identity in the context of life choices. It is shown that the leading value orientations of students of different genders and ages and their preferred existential roles in their interaction act as factors in choosing a particular life strategy.

The article presents a study of the development of professionally important personal qualities of undergraduate students of the psychological and pedagogical direction in the conditions of emergency remote teaching (ERT). A study with the participation of 140 master’s students (70 in 2018– 2019, 70 in 2020–2021) and using the Emotional Response Scale of A. Mehrabyan and N. Epstein, the test of communication skills of L. Mikhelson, methods of professional identity research (MIPI) and personal identity (MILES) L. B. Schneider confirmed the assumption that empathy develops intensively at the beginning of training, both in full-time and in distance learning, but the development of communicative competence is difficult compared to full-time training. In contrast to the conditions of full-time study, with emergency remote teaching, the status of diffuse professional identity is common for students of both courses, and the achieved professional identity is much less common than for full-time students. Among first-year students, the most common is the status of diffuse personal identity, among second-year students-the status of a moratorium. The limitations of the obtained conclusions are discussed and the prospects for further research are shown.

The article analyzes the impact of the quantity and quality of contract students on the activities of an educational organization. The issue of positioning an educational organization is considered as one of the important aspects in the competition for contract students.

The article discusses features of theatrical activity. The influence of involvement in theatrical activity on the psychological characteristics of students, their emotional intelligence and psychological well-being is investigated. With the help of Pearson’s correlation analysis, the relationship of the parameters of emotional intelligence with the scales of psychological well-being, as well as the relationship of the above parameters with the frequency of theater attendance, were found. Additionally, changes in the emotional states on different stages of the show trial and intragroup relationships dynamics were studied.

Currently, music education in universities in China is developing at an accelerated pace. But, unfortunately, the music education system focuses on the implementation of Western standards, sometimes neglecting the education and inheritance of Chinese traditional music. Because of this, there are problems that the government is trying to solve. The article briefly analyzes the current situation with music education at universities on the inheritance of traditional Chinese music, examines the importance of music education in terms of increasing cultural awareness, expanding the influence of traditional Chinese music. The authors reveal the educational aspect of traditional music in Chinese higher education.

The article is devoted to the description of the realization of the educational potential of the pedagogical block of practical tasks. The authors emphasize that it is the content of the pedagogical block of practice assignments that contributes to solving the tasks of education and the formation of significant personal qualities of a student.

The article addresses the issue of coping behavior and coping strategies of students at a pedagogical university. Models of coping with stress, coping tasks, coping strategies, and personal coping resources are defined. The main approaches to the study of coping behavior, classifications of coping behavior in the interpretation of domestic and foreign researchers are highlighted. The connection between the coping strategies of pedagogical university students and their value orientations, readiness for pedagogical activity, neuropsychological characteristics, self-attitude, and defensive mechanisms of the personality is traced. Empirically, the adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies inherent to students of a pedagogical university, their situational and personal anxiety, as well as the relationship between anxiety and the prevailing coping strategies of future special education teachers are revealed.

The article is a generalization of the empirical study of the dynamics of professional readiness of students of psychological specialties. The article naturally talks about the features and components of professional readiness, about the stages of educational activity of students of the last year of study. Based on the identified components (motivational, communicative, volitional, value-semantic, evaluative-reflexive), psychological testing of students was carried out at the beginning and at the end of the last year of study, the results of which showed a certain dynamic in the field under study. The reasoning about the dynamics that took place was confirmed by mathematical and statistical analysis.

This article is devoted to the results of research conducted during an empirical study of the dynamics of social and psychological characteristics of groups of Chinese and Russian students in the first year of study at Russian universities. The objects of the study were students from Moscow universities: 132 Chinese students from 24 groups and 183 Russian students from 9 study groups. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the dynamics of the social and psychological characteristics of these groups in the first year of study differ. Based on this, it can be assumed that the results obtained are a consequence of three aspects: social and psychological, culture-specific, as well as processes of sociocultural adaptation.

In the context of current socio-cultural trends in our country and in the world, the interactive approach substantiates the process of interpersonal communication as a value and as the goal of educational activities. As a result, the educational result of interactive learning involves the personal actualization of the student with the involvement of his intellectual, creative and communicative resources. The established didactic goal is achieved through the study, comprehension, practical development of the content of the educational material and the acquisition of communication skills by students. The authors present the results of a semantic analysis of the correlation between the concepts of “communication” and “interaction”.

There are relatively few studies on the human motivation to get involved in watching fictional horror on the screen and how a horror movie affects people’s behavioral, cognitive and emotional reactions. Why do young people enjoy horror films, how individual differences affect the reaction and preference for horror films, whether horror films affect behavior, why we are afraid of certain “classes” of stimuli, and also how sympathy for horror develops... The author of the article analyzes the psychological aspect of this phenomenon, and also considers how it affects the psyche of modern students in the process of studying the discipline “Psychology of Cinema”.

The article shows the importance of the formation of social and informational competence in preparing students for future teaching activities. The structural components of socioal and informational competence and their content are considered. The conducted 104 research of the social and informational competence of future teachers is described, and its results are analyzed.

The article substantiates the relevance of the study of universal learning actions of students of secondary vocational education (SVE). Against the background of the introduction of new means of assessing the educational results of students of secondary vocational education, there remains a need for the study of universal learning actions in conditions when, according to international monitoring of the quality of education, the indicators of Russian adolescents have slightly decreased, experimental studies of the formation of universal learning actions in secondary vocational students are becoming especially relevant. The specificity of the pedagogical approach to the study of the universal learning actions of SVE students is shown, the theoretical and practical significance of such studies is substantiated.

The article analyzes the problem of professional orientation and motivation of psychology students in the context of the sophomore slump. The approaches to understanding the essence of the sophomore slump in foreign and domestic literature are revealed, its connection with professional and pedagogical motivation is substantiated. The results of an empirical study of the level of professional orientation and motivation of second-year psychology students are presented. Some sophomores experience difficulties related to the lack of personal meaning in their professional education and lack of readiness for professional activity. The prevention of a sophomore slump can be carried out in the form of psychological and pedagogical support for students, special educational disciplines and the organization of classes that contribute to the assimilation of the role of a professional.

In a study involving 114 students with disabilities studying at one of the technical universities in Moscow, a questionnaire of the student’s internal position (D. V. Lubovsky), a variant of the questionnaire of motives for teaching at the university (M. V. Ermolaeva) and an author’s questionnaire of professional identification (M. V. Ermolaeva, D. V. Lubovsky) were used. Three groups of students were identified according to the level of indicators of the internal position. The indicators of the motives of teaching at the university and identification with the content and conditions of future professional activity of representatives of the three groups are analyzed, the directions of their psychological and pedagogical support and prospects for further research are shown.

The methodological and technological approaches of scientists to building a healthsaving educational environment in higher educational institutions are considered. Particular attention is paid to the constituent methodological components of various models for creating an educational space that is safe for the health of students, factors that can provide a positive result in the process of creating a safe, health-preserving environment in a modern educational organization. Directions for constructing safe health-saving content are proposed — methodological trajectories: theoretical, practical, restorative. Methodological levels have also been formed taking into account the content of the areas of organizing work to preserve health among students: physical education-theoretical, physical education-practical, physical education-methodological, physical education-regulating.

The article discusses the model and program for preparing student volunteers for effective interaction with persons with disabilities, describes main components of the model, and also presents stages and content of the program.

The article presents research data on the career orientations of part-time teacherstudents. An analysis of domestic and foreign sources shows that part-time students are a diverse group. Comparison of the results of diagnostic testing of full-time and part-time students using E. Schein’s methodology shows that both groups are predominantly oriented towards service, stability, and integration, but these orientations are less pronounced among part-time students. In addition, indicators of service and professional competence orientations are related to work experience in the profession and future professional plans.

The results of a study of the motivation to achieve success and avoid failure of students of a higher educational institution are presented.
