The problem of studying spiritual phenomena is relevant in connection with the increasing demands from various social and medical services for the development of knowledge-intensive models of work and assistance, taking into account the spiritual dimension of human life. The article reviews the main views on the essence and nature of spiritual phenomena in psychological science, taking into account the prerequisites in philosophical and religious traditions, and outlines the readiness and possibilities of using the concept of “spiritual meaning” by psychology as a reflection of a person’s spiritual experience in the semantic structure of consciousness. It is believed that spiritual meaning is a category capable of carrying out research in the field of spirituality, religiosity and psychology at an interdisciplinary level.

This article presents a review of the latest edition of the “Handbook of Personality: Theory and Research” (2021). Newest version presents modern research in the field of personality psychology, which reveals new prospects for its development. In addition to a new perspective on the personality characteristics already discussed in previous editions, the latest handbook edition describes the study results on the relationship between aspects of personality and external conditions, as well as information on the influence of the latter on personality development. The review analyzes the new trends in the research of personality psychology which are highlighted by the authors of the handbook.

The article presents the problem of psychological readiness for innovation activity in conditions of instability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. The motivational, cognitive and personal components of psychological readiness for innovation are described. An approach to the description of the phenomenon of psychological readiness for innovation in the VUCA environment through the integrative resources of the individual as a subject of activity — innovative potential and self-regulation is presented. The structural components of innovation potential and personality-style characteristics of self-regulation in the VUCA environment are analyzed.

The article deals with the phenomenon of mental States and its impact on the performance of athletes. Starting from the thesis of L. M. Abolin about the multidirectional influence of emotions, the content of which is the statement that emotional States can regulate human activity and affect the overall positive, but often disorganize the system and negatively affect the results. In the context of the analysis of this thesis, other research positions are presented and described. As part of the analysis of the category “sports success”, both positive and negative factors affecting success are described. The features of emotional stress and its influence on the result in various sports are considered. The classification and description of methods of regulation of psychoemotional States are given.
