The authors describe the experience of implementing active and traditional teaching methods in the study of the discipline “Modern problems of science and education”, implemented within the framework of the Master’s degree in Pedagogical Education. The paper describes examples of the use of active and traditional teaching methods in practical classes, including: a class-conference, educational debates, project development and defense, essay writing, drawing up intelligence maps.

The article, from a pedagogical position, reveals the features of the content of individualization of foreign language teaching for cadets of military command universities, including the following areas of teacher activity: organization of classroom and independent work, creation of a pedagogical environment that takes into account the personal characteristics of cadets.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the pedagogical potential of modern game-based learning technologies in higher military schools. The analysis of the main approaches to the problem in domestic and foreign studies is carried out. The role of problem-based learning as a concept that removes the opposition of traditional and innovative learning technologies in higher military schools is considered.
