Loneliness becomes a frequent phenomenon in the modern world. According to statistics, younger and younger segments of the population experience feeling of loneliness, and the consequences of this situation have yet to be studied. The authors set the goal of analyzing the phenomenon of loneliness in modern situation and exploring ways of coping with this feeling among adolescents. The sample of the empirical study consists of 74 respondents aged 14–15 years. The following methods are used: UCLA Loneliness Scale, “Life Style Index” (LSI), “Strategic Approach to Coping Scale” (SACS), MLO “Adaptability”. The results of hierarchical regression analysis show how maladaptive coping strategies aggravate the feeling of loneliness of adolescents.
