The article analyzes the correlation of concepts related to precarious employment. Based on the theoretical analysis of modern literature, the authors have identified the main personal characteristics of workers in conditions of precarious employment. To designate the system of personal prerequisites for choosing precarious employment and personal properties that are formed in its conditions, the concept of precarious internal position is proposed. It is shown that the working conditions of IT specialists create risk factors for the formation of this type of internal position. To prevent such risks at the stage of studying at the university, it is proposed to study the negative aspects of precarity and actively search for constructive coping strategies to cope with them as an important aspect of psychological and pedagogical support at the stage of study at the university.
