The article presents the results of the empirical study of the influence of the educational program of counseling psychologists and psychotherapists on the trajectories of development of psychological self-regulation of personality. In order to examine the functioning of self-regulation processes more closely, the level of ego development was introduced, as a differentiating factor. This is the central concept of Jane Loevinger’s Theory of Ego Development. The projective Washington University Sentence Completion Test, created on its basis, was the main methodological tool of this research. The article highlights the peculiarities of psychological self-regulation functioning in the context of personal maturity development in students from psychology educational programs and non-psychology programs.
