As the prevalence of team management approaches increases, so does the demand for understanding the factors that affect team performance. One of the key performance factors is the team composition, its personal-psychological and behavioral characteristics. On the other hand, role behavior in a team is a projection of personality traits, experience, competencies, and motivation into the context of teamwork. Thus, the purpose of the study is to establish the nature and structure of the links between personality traits and motivation characteristics with emerging team roles. The analysis of the research results demonstrates the existence of links between different variants of team roles, personality traits and features of motivational profiles and allows identifying a number of roles that have a more pronounced connection with personal and motivational characteristics.
