The article describes the main stages of the use of computer technology in the teaching of foreign languages, as a defense — the postulates. The main periods that laid the foundation for the emergence of the communicative theory of teaching, the main principles of the communicative application of computer technologies are highlighted. The new didactic possibilities of modern information and communication technologies and their connection with the latest trends in teaching are analyzed. The article focuses on the socio-interactive approach in education, which is based on the emergence of second-generation Internet technologies (Web 2.0), the study of the principles of mobile education.
